Join Us On the Journey to Living Courageously
This year’s Journey Program - "Living Courageously" has been carefully constructed with a life-oriented spiritual theme that will be helpful to both newcomers and long-term church members alike. The program encourages participants to read about, discuss, and pray about living courageously, and to make the theme a part of their daily lives. It’s amazing to witness the personal growth that comes from fully participating in all three elements of the program.
Daily Reading: People can develop a habit of reading daily from the Word, and may find that stories from the Word have new life and meaning when explored in depth.
Small Groups: In Small Groups, people may find camaraderie, support and fellowship, and realize that they are not alone on their spiritual journey.
Sermon Series: Excitement can build around hearing the next "installment" in a sermon series and lead to regular worship attendance. One of the primary goals of a spiritual growth program is to build healthy, growing congregations. It's exciting that congregations and groups who participate are not alone in their journey, but part of a broader team that both cares about them and tangibly supports them.
Thoughtfully developed materials like the Living Courageously Workbook—written by Rt. Rev. Peter Buss Sr., with the application and activities written by Star Silverman Small Group Leader’s Guide—comprehensive instructions for running a small group and weekby-week facilitator notes for group discussion and activities.
A community is like an individual, and those who enter into it form as it were one body, and are distinct from each other like the members of one body. When the Lord and the angels from Him look down upon the earth, they see an entire community just like an individual, with a form according to the qualities of those in it. Also, the Office of Education has develop a comprehensive set of materials for children and teens (3- 8 years old) to coordinate with the Living Courageously Journey Program. They can be used by Sunday Schools or by individuals, and each of the four levels is designed to contain something for everyone, including teacher resources, recitations, activities, art projects, role play, and music.
There are many ways to get involved and share in the excitement of the Living Courageously Journey Program, including:
• Connecting with a congregation running the program
• Signing up to receive weekly inspirational emails
• Purchasing a workbook for individual study
